If your name is Josh Katz and you are the CEO and Founder of the revolutionary live event ticketing platform YellowHeart, every day might not look this glitzy and star-studded, but these are the types of interactions that might happen over time for this CEO to ensure he is collecting the type of support needed to make his current professional endeavor a success.
Josh founded, built, and sold El Media Group, the company responsible for the custom music playlists and sound systems in some of the world’s most extravagant restaurants and hotels and over 1,000 top hospitality brands. If you have ever worked out at a Blink Fitness, been to an Exhale Spa, grabbed a smoothie from Juice Generation, or grabbed food at Dig Inn, the chances are you have heard a custom music playlist from Josh and the team at El Media.
With Josh’s extensive and celebrated experience in this space, it is not farfetched to believe that this would be the man that would next take on the fundamentally-flawed ways of the live event ticketing industry. With the help of a few full-stack developers who are at the forefront of the blockchain technology wave creating never-before-seen technology that will help to reign in secondary ticketing markets, Josh has set about to do just that: change the face of the ticketing industry.
But what does that mean?
Yellowheart Technology will begin to cure this ailing industry by creating and following tickets through their technology to ensure that fans are getting a chance to purchase tickets at face value, keep the money in the hands of the primary ticket issuers (the music artists, athletic teams, and the venue that hold these events), and by opening up the data of those buying the tickets so fans will know who is in the audience around them, and most importantly the artists and teams can start to understand their fan base.
It sounds like a high calling for one man to revolutionize an industry in such a way, but Josh Katz knew from the beginning that he was not going to be able to do it alone. More than that, he knew that in order to truly put an incision in the growing power of the secondary ticketing market, he was going to have to enlist the help of as many music industry influencers as possible.
The first step was finding Yellowheart ‘partners in crime’ that were as passionate about this revolution as he was. Enter Adam Alpert, Drew Taggart, and Alex Pall, the manager of and two members of the band The Chainsmokers. Since the four gentlemen powered together to make YellowHeart known, they have very systematically called upon industry friends and neighbors and enlisted them at various levels of support to help power the revolution and make Yellowheart a household industry name.
Here is the list of the music industry who’s who that have joined the Yellowheart army since:
John McMann – Senior VP Pop & Rhythmic Promotion @ Atlantic Records
Jarred Arfa – Executive Vice President @ Artists Group International
Jason Weinstock – EVP @ Red Light Management

Jon Cohen – Co-Founder & Co-CEO @ The FADER / Cornerstone Agency
